I'm confused, do we shut down the economy and close all the restaurants and small businesses every time there's a cold front, as well as criminals out of jail because it's slightly cold, in addition to jailing people that go outside without a jacket?

Not a good comparison really, tho it may seem like it at first. The problem is that freezing weather has a 100% death rate without proper clothing depending on how long you are out in it. Whether or not I get COVID as a 32yr old with no underlying issues...my chances of dying from it is close to zero, even if I’m exposed to it 24/7. So I can’t survive freezing weather but I can survive COVID with almost statistical certainty. Also, my immune system can develop protections from it naturally but i won’t suddenly have the ability to survive in freezing weather.
